Services We Provide

• UTEP’s Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) manages UTEP’s intellectual property and facilitates the transfer of technologies into commercial products.


• We work closely with UTEP innovators to identify and evaluate patentable inventions, develop patent prosecution strategies for complex portfolios of inventions.


• Through our marketing campaigns and outreach programs, we identify potential licensees and start-up opportunities to promote UTEP intellectual property to industry.


• We draft, negotiate, and manage all commercialization agreements surrounding UTEP intellectual property, including confidentiality agreements, options, license agreements, and collaboration agreements.


• We provide educational resources to UTEP faculty and student innovators, assist start-ups with new company formation and businesses plan development, and provide fundraising and resource matching activities.
